Mounia Laassiri is a nuclear and particle physicist at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in the USA, where she works as a postdoctoral researcher, specializing in testing the ATLAS strip tracker upgrade (ITk) for the ATLAS Experiment and contributing to the organization and management of the African School of Physics (ASP).

    Mounia Laassiri is a nuclear and particle physicist at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in the USA, where she works as a postdoctoral researcher. Her work includes testing the ATLAS strip tracker upgrade (ITk) for the ATLAS Experiment and contributing to the organization and management of the African School of Physics (ASP). She holds a Ph.D. in Physics and Nuclear Instrumentation from Mohammed V University in Morocco, where she also earned a bachelor's degree in Fundamental Studies — Science of the Physical Matter — and a master’s degree in Security of Computer Networks and Embedded Systems. Laassiri serves as a co-convener of the Young Physicists Forum (YPF) under the African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics (ASFAP), engaging early-career African physicists in addressing career development challenges and supporting the mission of the African Physical Society. Her active roles in international science initiatives include editing the African Physics Newsletter (APN), organizing conferences and schools, and serving on the Governing Council of the Arab Physical Society (ArPS). Laassiri is committed to science outreach, mentoring, and fostering collaborations that bridge African, Arab, and global physics communities.
