What do student ambassadors do?
As part of a select annual cohort, student ambassadors:
- Advocate for APS at their institution by sharing information and resources
- Gain leadership experience through exclusive professional development programs and events
- Serve as a representative for APS in public settings and at APS meetings
- Connect with a global network of physicists to build an inclusive physics community
Who is eligible to be a student ambassador?
Student ambassadors are enthusiastic student leaders who are:
- Active APS members at the time of application and throughout tenure in the program
- Currently enrolled students at a degree granting higher education institution
- Will remain a student at their institution during the entirety of their term as an ambassador
What do you need to apply?
Any undergraduate or graduate student with at least a year left in their studies can apply. Applying is easy, the application consists of:

- A letter of recommendation from an advisor, faculty, or staff from your institution
