Strong and sustained investments in the federal science agencies — including the NSF, NIST, NASA Science Mission Directorate, DOD Basic Research Office, and DOE Office of Science — are the foundation of the domestic STEM workforce and critical for U.S. competitiveness.

Fiscal Year 2025 funding is a full-year continuing resolution (CR), which means flat funding without inflationary adjustments.

To keep the U.S. competitive, Congress must prioritize federal science agencies as they begin FY 2026 budget appropriations, providing sustained robust support.
