Suzanne L. Weekes

Suzanne L. Weekes is chief executive officer of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, where she oversees international activities in scientific publishing, conferences, professional education, and science policy. An applied mathematician by training, her work advances computational science and industry partnerships.

Weekes was previously a faculty member and Professor Emerita at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she directed programs in industrial mathematics. She also served as co-chair of the National Science Foundation Mathematical and Physical Sciences Advisory Committee. She is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Association for Women in Mathematics. Weekes holds a doctorate in mathematics and scientific computing and a master's degree in applied math, both from the University of Michigan, as well as a bachelor's degree in math from Indiana University Bloomington.
