Patience Nelson
Patience Nelson is the head of ethics and Ethics Committee staff liaison at APS.

Patience Nelson, J.D., brings over a decade of experience investigating high-risk ethics matters within diverse organizations, including an academic medical center, financial services, and technology companies, as well as small nonprofits. She is skilled at developing policies and has earned the confidence of senior leadership for her guidance on complex employee relations matters. A graduate of Howard University School of Law, Patience’s legal and business acumen provide a steady hand to guide the management of the APS Ethics Department.
As the APS head of ethics, Patience Nelson serves as the APS ethics officer responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct that occur during APS Activities. She also reviews appeals of ethics determinations involving Non-APS Activities. This role works closely with the APS Board of Directors and serves as the subject matter expert for developing APS ethics initiatives.
