Liz Austin is a marketing and communications executive with more than 20 years of experience leading brand strategy, digital transformation, and audience engagement for global, mission-driven organizations.

    Liz Austin is the chief marketing and communications officer at the American Physical Society, where she leads the organization’s global marketing and communications strategy. In close partnership with the executive leadership team and key stakeholders, she works to amplify APS’ voice and global impact, deepen engagement across the physics community, and support growth across membership, meetings, and publications in alignment with the Society’s mission.

    Austin has more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in marketing and communications, with deep expertise in digital transformation, brand strategy, and audience engagement across global organizations. Prior to joining APS, she served as Chief Marketing Officer at Exos, where she led an integrated strategy spanning brand awareness, thought leadership, revenue growth, and member engagement.

    Earlier in her career, she held senior marketing leadership roles at LEAP Legal Software, McGraw-Hill Education, Reed Elsevier, Wiley, Complinet, Wolters Kluwer, and Thomson Reuters. Across these roles, she built and transformed brands, led growth strategies, and strengthened engagement with global audiences in complex, mission-driven environments.

    Austin is based in northern New Jersey and enjoys the arts, volunteering in her community, gardening, and summers at the Jersey Shore.
