James Valles
Jim Valles is the Royce Family Professor of Teaching Excellence in Physics and Professor of Physics at Brown University.
The Ethics Committee is led by James Valles, who is responsible for overseeing the committee’s efforts of developing ethics processes, education initiatives, and appointing panels to respond to Non-APS Activity ethics complaints. Valles' service includes former chair of the Department of Physics, former chair of the Title IX Council, and the Faculty Athletic Representative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association. He chaired the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory User Committee, a National Science Foundation funded facility in Tallahassee, Florida. Valles has been awarded multiple teaching awards and is honored to be a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
