Eric Mazur
Eric Mazur is chair of the Optica Foundation, is Balkanski Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Harvard University, and a member of the Faculty of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has received multiple honors.

The Ethics Committee is led by Eric Mazur, who is responsible for overseeing the committee’s efforts of developing ethics processes, education initiatives, and appointing panels to respond to Non-APA Activity ethics complaints. He has served as chair of the APS Panel on Public Affairs and served Optica, formerly the Optical Society, as director-at-large and then as president. He is chair of the Optica Foundation. Mazur is Balkanski Professor of Physics and Applied Physics at Harvard University and a member of the Faculty of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He has received multiple honors including APS Fellow, Optica Fellow, AAAS Fellow, and AAPT Fellow. He has received numerous awards for his work in optics and photonics and in education.
