Camilla P. Benbow

    Camilla P. Benbow is the Patricia and Rodes Hart dean of education and human development at Vanderbilt Peabody College of Education and Human Development. A scholar of talent identification and development in STEM, Benbow co-directs the Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth, a longitudinal study of 5,000 gifted individuals now in its 55th year.

    She is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Educational Research Association. She has been honored with numerous awards including, most recently, the Dunnette Prize of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology in 2026. Benbow holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's degree in psychology, a master’s degree in education, and a doctorate in education, all from Johns Hopkins University.
