As part of your APS membership benefits, you can access the latest physics research in our journals for special subscription rates.

Special journal pricing for members

APS members get special pricing on up to three journal subscriptions for personal use, plus the Physical Review Online Archives (PROLA).

Journal subscriptions include access to full text of articles and other online journal features from the current year, plus all material back to the journal’s inception. Online access to APS journals during the licensed year, has a cap of 300 downloads for a single journal and 450 downloads for PROLA. Access will be terminated if these limits are exceeded.

To purchase journal subscriptions, log in to your myAPS account and select My Subscriptions. You will need to create a myAPS account if you don't have one already.

Physical Review Archive Online

As an APS member, you may also access the Physical Review Online Archive (PROLA) for the special rate of $215, which includes:

  • Physical Review Series I and II, in their entirety (1893-1969)
  • Physical Review A-D from 1970-2021
  • Physical Review E from 1993-2021
  • Physical Review Letters from 1958-2021
  • Reviews of Modern Physics from 1929-2021
  • Physical Review Applied from 2014-2021
  • Physical Review Fluids from 2016-2021
  • Physical Review Materials from 2017-2021

Print and online journal bundles

APS members receive exclusive pricing for access to 52 issues of Physical Review Letters and four issues of Reviews of Modern Physics, with options for both the paper copies and online articles at the following rates:

  • Physical Review Letters, paper and online: $1,481 ($3,028 outside the United States).
  • Reviews of Modern Physics, paper and online: $303 ($553 outside the United States).

Online access instructions

To purchase journal subscriptions, log in to your myAPS account and select My Subscriptions. You will need to create a myAPS account if you don't have one already. After purchasing a subscription to an APS journal, members will receive an email with instructions for accessing their subscription. You may also follow these steps:

  • View the list of journals

    Begin by viewing the full list of APS journals on the APS journals website.

  • Select the journal

    Select the title of the specific journal to which you are subscribed.

  • Select the article

    Choose the article you wish to view.

  • Review journal login options

    Select the PDF button, which will direct you to the journal login options page.

  • Choose APS member login

    Choose the APS member login option, which will prompt you to log in through your myAPS account to access and download the article.

Journal alerts

Stay informed and receive updates from APS journals by setting up email alerts. This complimentary service is open to all. Updates are sent weekly for Physical Review Letters (PRL), and monthly for all other journals.

Open access

Physical Review journals include the following open access titles: Physical Review X, PRX Energy, PRX Life, PRX Quantum, Physical Review Research, Physical Review Accelerators and Beams, Physical Review Physics Education Research.
