Goals to help people who are interested in physics thrive as physicists

Through events and mentoring, as part of the APS Gender Inclusive Physics Community, the Conference for Women and Gender Minorities in Physics provides selected physics graduate students and postdocs with the support and professional development they need to grow as leaders in physics and related fields.

The goals of this conference are to:

  • Expand networking, strengthen retention, and provide opportunities for future research and other collaborations for participants throughout the community
  • Provide mentor, leadership, and professional development training to participants pursuing physics graduate studies
  • Empower students to become positive change agents within the broader community in order to make physics a more inclusive discipline
