Flexibility for APS Global Physics Summit abstract submitters directly affected by U.S. government shutdown

Oct. 23, 2025

We recognize the challenges many researchers are currently facing due to the U.S. government shutdown. To ensure you still have an opportunity to share your research at the 2026 APS Global Physics Summit, we’re providing a path to indicate your intent to submit an abstract once current restrictions are lifted.

If you wish to present your work but are unable to complete an abstract submission at this time due to the shutdown, please take the following steps:

  1. Complete the Intent to Submit Form by 10/31. This will help us reserve your opportunity to submit once the shutdown concludes.
  2. Prepare your abstract materials now. Once the government reopens, we anticipate only a short window to accept submissions.
  3. Watch for your special submission link. After the shutdown ends, you’ll receive a direct link via email to complete your abstract submission during this limited-time extension.

Our goal is to provide flexibility and every opportunity for you to participate in the Summit.

Please note that this special submission period will be brief and reserved exclusively for those who completed the form and were affected directly by the government shutdown.

Thank you for your patience and commitment to advancing physics at the APS Global Physics Summit.
