Committee on Scientific Publications

The Committee on Scientific Publications (CSP) advises the Board on APS publications and oversees the Society’s publishing enterprise.

The Committee on Scientific Publications (CSP) advises the Board on APS publications and oversees the Society’s publishing enterprise. It conducts periodic reviews of all journals and provides the Chief Publications Officer (CPO) and CEO with strategic guidance to ensure the publications enterprise meets the needs of the scientific community.

The membership of the CSP includes the Publications Chair, the CEO (non-voting), the Chief Publications Officer (non-voting), the Executive Editor (non-voting), at least four (4) members selected by the BEC and appointed by the President-Elect to staggered three (3) year terms, and up to three (3) external publishing experts selected by the Publications Chair, confirmed by the BEC, and appointed by the President-Elect. The external experts are not required to be members of the APS and they serve at the pleasure of the Publications Chair. The Publications Chair chairs the committee. Following the conclusion of their term, the Publications Chair participates on the Committee on Scientific Publications in a non-voting, advisory capacity for the subsequent year.

The CSP is an advisory Board Committee.
